Why Teach Technology?
Our goal at White Pigeon Community Schools is to prepare our students for life in a globally connected world. Technology skills are a necessary for future education, the work force and daily life. The immediate goal for Technology Education at Central is to give students the working basics while developing their knowledge and skills. Students have Technology Enrichment for one 30 minute class weekly and work with classroom teachers. Classroom teachers are then able to incorporate technology into their assignments and lessons without spending additional time to teach those skills.
In addition to skills, students learn vital information about security and safety on the internet. This knowledge is important as internet based crime increases every year. Educating our students about these issues will give them the base they need to safely navigate the digital world.
All curriculum is based on Michigan Technology Standards and Benchmarks. Links to these standards can be found above.
