It’s time to join the White Pigeon Band!

5th graders had a chance this week to try band instruments at school.  Professionals from the Marshall Music store helped students make their first sounds and choose what band instrument they want to play.

We would love for everyone to participate in the 6th grade band next school year.  If your child is interested in joining the band you need to do two things:

1. Send us an email so that we can add the 6th grade band class to your child’s schedule.  Please include all three of us in your email:  Mr Loveless (Principal) dloveless@wpcschools.org, Ms. Shenk (Counselor) pshenk@wpcschools.org, and Mr. O’Donnell (Director) dodonnell@wpcschools.org. 
2. There will be a meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at 6 p.m. in the band room at the high school (room 13 - across from the gym).  At the meeting, we will let you know how to get an instrument and all the other materials needed for band class.

To help you get started we will be offering a band kick-off clinic the first two weeks of June.  There are many different instruments in a band, each with unique things to learn.  Before we put everyone together in band class next Fall this two week clinic will focus on just your individual instrument and the important things that you need to know to be successful.
