Central Families - Please Read this Message from our Principals
October 12, 2021
Dear Central Families,
We want to thank you all for a great start to the 2021-2022 school year! We are in the swing of things at Central! Unfortunately, that also includes common childhood illnesses. Over the past year and a half our focus has primarily been on COVID-19. Although this is still in the forefront, we cannot forget about very common illnesses such as strep throat, bronchitis, flu, stomach bugs, common cold, hand foot mouth disease, and many other illnesses that are very contagious. These illnesses have always been very common in elementary schools, but Central has seen an increase over the past couple of weeks. Please help everyone stay as healthy as possible by following these simple rules:
If your child has a temperature of 99 degrees or above, please keep them home until they are fever-free without fever-reducer medication for 24 hours.
If your child has had diarrhea or vomited in the last 24 hours, keep them home until they have been free of these two things for 24 hours.
If your child has had a croupy cough or is coughing up phlegm, please keep them home.
If your child continues to have one or several of these symptoms for longer than two or three days, please see your child’s pediatrician before returning to school.
Use common sense. Oftentimes, children who are not feeling well can have more challenging behaviors, making it very difficult to learn and concentrate at school.
UPDATE emergency contact information in the office. This is extremely important so we can contact you if your child is sick or if there is an emergency.
If we all do our part, we will be able to continue to keep kids happy, healthy and in school! Thank
you in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated!
