Please read this message from our Transportation Department
To all parents:
Just a quick note, to let you all know that we take the safety of your child(ren) very seriously.
Since we handed out the lights to the bus students, we have heard positive comments from the drivers and parents that the lights have helped them to see the kids much better on these dark fall mornings. It is important that we continue to work together to keep all of our students safe.
Safety first is our motto. Please know that school transporters view your children as their own when they are on the bus. All children are important to us.
We go through regular safety training as it is a requirement to be a bus driver.
Please remind your child(ren) to always be on the lookout for cars while waiting for the bus and to always stay back from the road until the bus has come to a complete stop and doors are open.
We also need to remind our friends and neighbors to always be on the lookout for students who are waiting for the school bus. There is a safe distance that ALL cars should stop from a bus that is loading or unloading and that is a minimum of 20 feet from the stopped school bus; the vehicle should not continue on its way until the red lights have stopped flashing and the stop arm has been canceled as well.
